Franz Wagner delivered 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists as Orlando earned its first win and kept New York winless.

The Orlando Magic broke into the win column at Madison Square Garden on October 25, beating the New York Knicks 111-102. Orlando improved to 1-2, while New York slipped to 0-3 with its third consecutive defeat. Franz Wagner led the Magic with an all-around performance, finishing one assist shy of a triple-double.

Wagner posted 23 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists in 37 minutes despite shooting 9-for-23 from the field and missing all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Desmond Bane supplied 22 points, six rebounds and two blocks, connecting on four of nine three-point attempts in 35 minutes.

Tristan da Silva and Anthony Black gave Orlando two more productive scoring performances. Da Silva scored 19 points on 7-for-13 shooting, including 5-for-9 from deep, and finished plus-20 in 27 minutes. Black added 18 points, five assists and two steals, making five of seven three-point attempts. His plus-21 in 26 minutes was the best mark among Orlando’s listed top performers.

Jalen Brunson paced New York with 28 points but shot 12-for-28 overall and 1-for-7 from three. Karl-Anthony Towns delivered 22 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, while OG Anunoby scored 22 and hit three of six three-point attempts. Josh Hart added 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals. Those efforts were not enough to secure New York’s first victory, as Orlando left the Garden with a nine-point win.
