The Philadelphia 76ers picked up their second straight victory on October 30, beating the New York Knicks 98-93 at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Tyrese Maxey led the scoring with 27 points, while Anfernee Simons and LeBron James supplied strong support. Philadelphia moved to 5-1, and New York dropped to 2-4.

Maxey shot 10-for-19 from the field and 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, adding four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 38 minutes. Simons provided a sharp perimeter complement, knocking down five of his eight 3-point attempts and finishing with 21 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Those efficient contributions gave Philadelphia two productive scoring options alongside James.

James finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, shooting 8-for-15 in 34 minutes. He also recorded a steal and a block, and Philadelphia was plus-eight during his minutes. VJ Edgecombe added 13 points and eight rebounds on 6-for-10 shooting, rounding out the Sixers’ leading performers.

Jalen Brunson paced the Knicks with 24 points, five rebounds and six assists, but went 8-for-22 from the field and 3-for-10 from deep. Karl-Anthony Towns delivered 22 points and 12 rebounds, making eight of 15 shots and three of seven 3-point attempts. Mikal Bridges contributed 12 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Miles McBride scored 10. Those efforts were not enough to keep New York from taking the five-point defeat.
